Obituary

Sophia Joyce Myers Mazon, 96, of Blairsville, Pa. passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Andrews Village in Indiana, Pa.  She was born on Sunday, March 14, 1926 in Grafton, Pa. the daughter of the late Jack and Rose Dickton Myers. Before her retirement, she worked for the Greensburg Tribune Review for over 21 years as an Advertising Representative in Sales.  Sophia was an avid gardener, attending to her vegetables and flowers and she enjoyed canning. She was a lifelong Jehovah Witness and belonged to the Blairsville Congregation and was very devoted to her church. She is survived by her children; Ronald Mazon and his wife, Karen, of Blairsville, Richard Mazon and his wife, Kim, of Indiana and Joy Watt and her husband, Randy, of Blairsville, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Edward A. Mazon, her siblings; Johnny, Adam and William Myers, Agnes and Pauline Myers and June O’Lear. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Chestnut Ridge in Blairsville, Pa. from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM where services will be conducted at 3:00 PM. Interment will be held at Blairsville Cemetery.
