Mona Mae (Shearer) Muir

Mona Mae Shearer Muir, 80, of Shelocta (Young Township), passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at HCR Manor Care in Monroeville, Pa.  She was born on Thursday, November 23, 1939 in Saltsburg, Pa. She was raised by the late Wallace and Irene Cribbs Shearer. She was a member of the West Lebanon Church of God in West Lebanon, Pa. She spent her time volunteering for Helping Hands in Rural Valley and Helping Neighbors a missionary group through the church.  She enjoyed horseback riding and bowling. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clair James Muir, 3 children, Scott James Muir and his wife, Carla, of Seward, Pa., Sally Ann Bennett of Dubois, Pa, and Stacey Sue Risinger of Dubois, Pa., 3 grandchildren, Samantha Muir and her wife, Lynn, of Indiana, Pa., Kyle Muir and his wife, Irene, of Alexandria, Va. and Emilee Risinger of Dubois, Pa. and her brother, Ronald Shearer and his wife, Shirley, of Indiana, Pa. Mona was the last surviving sibling of the Stiver family. She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Edward and Edith Hannah Galligher Stiver. Due to public health concerns and concerns for our families, all arrangements were private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mona’s memory to the West Lebanon Church of God, 150 Blackleggs Rd, West Lebanon, Pa. 15783.
