Maureen Elizabeth Hiltz, 60, of Rochester, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, following many years of health conditions that have caused her pain and suffering. Born August 11, 1959, in Astoria, NY, daughter of Robert Hiltz (Rochester) and the late Marion Hiltz, she was a native of NY, where she lived in Brooklyn and Queens until the summer of 1969, when she settled in Rochester, PA as her family relocated to Beaver County.Throughout the years, she was known and loved by many in the community and spent the majority of her career in healthcare administration. She deeply cared for people and was always looking to see how she could lend people a helping hand anyway that she could. She was involved in the local community in a variety of ways. Maureen would volunteer to help various organizations, local causes, athletic programs for Rochester High School and she enjoyed playing softball with her friends. She also enjoyed reading, decorating for holidays, crafting, reading her Bible and attending small groups at her local church. She attended North Way Christian Community Church in Rochester, PA where she was loved by the brothers and sisters in Christ at this local faith community. She became a born again Christian in the later years of her life by placing her faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of her sins, and because of this her family is confident that she is now in Heaven with her Savior where she is in no more pain. She was the mother of two children, the late Michael Hiltz (who passed away shortly after birth in March of 1979) and her surviving son, Anthony Hiltz (Virginia Beach, VA). Maureen was very proud to be a mother and she made many sacrifices through the years as a single mother raising her only son. In addition to being a mother, her son Anthony and his wife Amanda Hiltz have four children that were so very special to Maureen. She was overjoyed to be a grandmother and in the later stages of life, she lovingly embraced being called “Nana” not just by her four grandchildren but by many others as well. Maureen’s grandchildren reside in Virginia Beach, VA and their names are Ayden (15), Avery (13), Addison (5) and Annabelle (3).Surviving her are her brother, Michael Hiltz and his wife Trish Nash (Las Vegas, NV); two sisters, Colleen Gerace and her husband Tom Gerace (Rochester) and Doreen Hiltz (Boston, MA); three nieces, Michelle Clark and Danielle Petrik (both of Rochester), and Martina Eimiller and her husband Ed (Bridgewater); two nephews, Robert ‘B.J.’ Petrik (Atlanta, GA); and Michael Jordan Hiltz (Center Township); two great-nieces, Alexis Clark and Haylie Petrik (both of Rochester); cousin, Tina Cleckley (Beaver Falls); other nieces, nephews, many cousins and numerous other very special friends who were like family to her throughout her lifetime. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, there will unfortunately not be a service held. The family asks that you keep them in prayer as they grieve during this time. Maureen's last wish was to be an organ donor to help others.
