Marie Magdalene (Berlinger) Penrose

Marie Magdeline Penrose, 73, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at her home.  Marie was born on Tuesday, April 22, 1947 in Kittaning, Pa, the daughter of the late Clarence and Rose Bruen Berlinger and was  raised in Ford City, PA, where she attended and graduated from Ford City High School.Marie is survived by daughter, Kym Penrose, of Rochester, NY; son, Brian (Michele) Penrose, of Shelocta, PA; brother Stephen (Deb) Berlinger, of Indiana, PA; brother-in-law Dale (Caryn) Penrose, Indiana, PA;  brother-in-law Paul (Melissa) Penrose, Indiana, PA; sister-in-law Anna Mae Iman, Indiana, PA; grandchildren Jacob, Shana, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Jameson, Jaden, Bentley and Gabriella; best friends Patty Milligan, Carol Morgan and Darlene Laney, who she also considered to be family; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the UK.Marie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and love of her life for 46 years, Raymond “Moose” Penrose.Marie most enjoyed the company of her family and friends, and loved making everyone laugh. She also enjoyed a good garage sale, playing word games, traveling to England for family visits, and caring for all of the stray cats that would just show up at her back door.Marie requested that no services be held, but the family plans to hold a Celebration of Life event at a later time.
