Howard “Dusty” Alton Smith, 69, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Apollo, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center. He was born Saturday, April 11, 1953, in Natrona Heights, PA, the son of James Smith and the late Melva Smith. Dusty was an avid Steeler fan, he enjoyed spending time outdoors and could be found golfing, hunting and camping. Dusty took great pride in having a well-manicured lawn and shiny clean cars. He was very active in his HOA and was a long-time member of the NRA. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Milo, as well as his doxies, Rylee and Emee. He is survived by his wife, Judy Andring Smith, of Surfside Beach, South Carolina, his sons, Michael Smith of Surfside Beach, South Carolina and Dr. Cory Smith and his wife Olga of Morgantown, West Virginia, his father, Jim Smith, of Slate Lick, PA, his brothers; Don, Randy, Tom and Chuck along with many nieces and nephews. Family will receive family and friends on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home, LTD., 1916 Moore Avenue, North Apollo, PA 15673. Services will be conducted Friday, July 15, 2022, at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Kevin Storer officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
