Hope Marie (Gibson) Magalich

Hope Marie Gibson Magalich, 86, of Avonmore, Pa. formerly of Tinsmill, Pa., passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, Pa. She was born in West Bolivar, Pa. on Monday, February 25, 1935, the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Anna B. Boring Gibson. She was a member of the Salina Bible Church and the  Ladies Guild and the Avonmore Senior Center. Before her retirement, she was a paramedic and manager of the Avonmore Life Savers EMS for over 30 years and also served on the board. She graduated from Bolivar High School and attended Penn State University. She enjoyed playing cards, doing jigsaw and sudoku puzzles and reading the bible. She always put God first and spent her life serving him. Hope had a great sense of humor, famous for her guidance and words of wisdom and you never had to guess where you stood with her. She is survived by her son, George Magalich Jr and his wife, Darla, of River Oaks, Tx., her daughter, Valerie Boarts and her husband, Kenneth, of New Kensington, Pa., her 5 grandchildren, Denise Llamas and her husband, Victor, of Azel, Tx., Kimberly Buck and her husband, Casey, of Fort Worth, Tx., David Magalich of Fort Worth, Tx., Kevin Boarts and his wife, Melanie, of Greensburg, Pa. and Daniel Boarts of Apollo, Pa. and 1 great grandchild, Bria Llamas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Magalich Sr. in 2009 and her sisters, Gladys Howard, Jean Yuhas, Doris Newlin, Beatrice Baird and  Martha “Nelly” Malinish and her brothers, Robert, Clarence “Bud”, Arthur and James Gibson. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Paul Reiner, officiating. A private interment will be held at Bethel United Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clyde, Pa.
