Donna Lee Franzi

Donna Lee Stern Franzi, 91, of Saltsburg passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at her home.  She was born Thursday, September 22, 1932 in Waterman, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Irene Good Stern.  Although it could be said, she never retired, she worked as a nurse practitioner.  She was an avid reader, who had a passion for knowledge.  Loved animals, and cared for all of them whether she owned them or not.  It is common knowledge that Donna loved her community in Saltsburg, and everyone, in some capacity, benefited from her compassion at some point in their life.  She is survived by her son, James William Hunter of Washington DC and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Reed Hunter II, her first husband, Joseph Reed Hunter, her second husband, Larry Franzi and her siblings; Dewey Stern, Anna “Peg” Stern, Verna Korywchak, Pauline Duplack and Frank Stern.  We can all be positive that in Heaven, Donna’s house, will also have a back door that will always be open.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
