Donald P. Speer

Donald P. Speer, 94, of Apollo, Pa., passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Logan Place in Lower Burrell, Pa. He was born on Saturday, June 25, 1927 in Arnold, Pa., the son of the late Paul and Kathryn Linsenbigler Speer. He was a United States Army Veteran and a registered Architect. He enjoyed woodworking and astronomy; loved birds especially feeding hummingbirds who would sit on his finger.  He loved reading and studying the Bible and evangelizing.  He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Jane Miller Speer, his children; Nancy Molesky and her husband, Stan, of Plainfield, In., Marilyn Parobek and her husband, Michael, of Lower Burrell, D. James Speer and his wife, Wilda, of New Kensington, David Speer and his wife, Becky, of Avonmore, and Jo-An Paquette of Magnolia, De., 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Richard Speer of Mercer County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; George, Sally, Kay and Allan.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Burrell Baptist Church.
