David Michael Strait, 65, of North Apollo, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Saturday, January 15, 1955 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Harry and Carol Short Strait. He was a member of the North Apollo Church of God. He was a United States Army veteran. David was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who treasured time spent with his family. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing play station, shooting pool, long range shooting, fishing, spending time in the outdoors and with his dogs. David loved to debate many subjects. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Held Strait of North Apollo, his children, Candice Frederick and her husband, Asa, of Dupont, Wa. And Jason McMunn and his wife, Camalia, of Forth Lupton, Co., 5 grandchildren, 8 brothers, Ed Strait and his wife, Pete, of Leechburg, Mike Strait of Erie, Glenn Strait and his wife, Cindy, of Tioga, Allen Strait of Somerset, Steven Strait of Tidioute, Terry Strait of Cumberland, Md., Jim Strait and his wife, Rowena, of Johnstown and Charles Strait of North Carolina and a sister, Sherry Lockhart of Leechburg. In an addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Virgil Trowbridge. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the North Apollo Church of God, 507 20th Street, North Apollo, Pa. 15673, with Pastor Robert Shallenberger, officiating. Interment is private.
