Robert Byron Reedy

Robert Byron “Bob” Reedy 92 of Apollo passed away Sunday June 24, 2018 at the Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, Pennsylvania. He was born Tuesday, June 8, 1926 in West Monterey, Pa. the son of the late Adison and Mary Ann Dehart Reedy. When Bob was nine years old, the family moved to Saltsburg, Pa., where he grew up and graduated from Saltsburg High School. Bob served our country in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946, where he was honorably discharged. After his discharge from the Army, he began working for the West Penn Power Company and continued working there until his retirement in 1986, after 40 years of service. Bob married Myrna Brown Reedy on July 25, 1947. They were married 53 years before his wife’s passing in 2000. Bob loved bow hunting and competing in tournament archery, he was a lifetime member of Chieftain Archery Club of Leechburg, his hobbies were making long bows, crossbow limbs and re-curves. His bow making expertise was well known and respected. Bob was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Leechburg, where he served on the Board of Trustees as treasurer for 12 years.  He is survived by a brother Raymond of Saltsburg, as sister June Jordan of Mount Vernon, WA., numerous nieces and nephews and a longtime friend Thelma Carnahan of North Apollo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, George and Harold Reedy and a sister Louise Latimer. At his request, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be conducted Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 1PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa with Reverend John Ludwig, officiation.
