Robert Wilson Hollis, 89, of Apollo, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Wednesday, January 30, 1929, in Apollo, the son of the late John and May Gamble Hollis. Before his retirement, he worked at Allegheny Ludlum for over 42 years. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 114 in Vandergrift, Beneficial & Brotherly Love Society of G.D.L.V., Polish National Alliance 791 East Vandergrift, The Slovak Club of Parks Township, and S.G.T.L.C. Kinkead Post 566. He enjoyed hunting, camping at Kelly Station, building puzzles and always put his family first. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cocco Hollis, three children; Harry Hollis and Judy Keener of Apollo, Bill Hollis and Rae Ann of Apollo and Ann Wildenville and Paul of Apollo, 4 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, John “Jack” Hollis of North Apollo, Clarence Hollis and Janice of Apollo, Larry Hollis and Gloria Bier of North Apollo, 2 sisters, Clara “Toots” Cunningham of North Apollo, and Nancy Libengood of Apollo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Frank Hollis. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 2PM until the time of services at 4PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Avenue, North Apollo, Pa. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment is private.
