Patricia A. Danko Smartnick, 81, of Avonmore, Pa. (formerly of Youngwood) went to be with her lord on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born on Monday, September 14, 1936 in Hecal, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Margaret Onusko Danko. She was a graduate of Saint Vincent DePaul School for the deaf in Pittsburgh, Pa. She enjoyed shopping, having lunch with her friends and spending time with her family. She will be sadly missed but greatly remembered for the many hearts she touched. Although, she was deaf here on earth, she is now free to hear the beautiful music and voices and to spread her wings for all eternity and to fly to heaven to be our guardian angel. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward Smartnick Sr., 4 children, Edward Smartnick Jr.and his wife Amy of Beaver Falls, Lori Ann Smartnick of Point Marion, Lisa Potoka and her husband Craig of Connelsville, Eric Smartnick and his wife of Amanda of Scottdale and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, a brother David Danko and his wife Cathy of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 children, Timothy and David Smartnick and a brother, James Danko. Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM in the C. Richard McCauley Funeral Home, 101 S. 14th St., Youngwood, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10AM at Holy Cross Parish, 711 Depot St. Youngwood, Pa. with Father William C. McGuirk as celebrant. Our family would like to thank the staff of Westmoreland Manor for the loving and excellent care that Pat received. Interment will follow in the Youngwood Cemetery in Youngwood, Pa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 400 Indiana Ave. Avonmore Pa.
