Lawrence “Larry” Matlack, 83, of Bell Township, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, Pa. Larry was born on Wednesday, June 26, 1935, in Edmon, Pa, the son of the late Elmer Lawrence and Winifred Walters Matlack. He was a United States Navy veteran. Before his retirement he was a crane operator for United States Steel, Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock. Larry loved to walk, gardening, fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his family. He is survived by two children, Michael Kriebel and his wife, Kitty, of Tarboro, NC and Carla Jean Lamoriello of Del Ray Beach of Fl., 3 grandchildren, Tammy J. Morill and her husband, Jason, of Monroe, NC, Michael Hinkel and his wife, Dawn, of Monroe, NC, and John K. Smith of Del Ray Beach, Fl, 4 sisters, Judy Shearer and her husband, Bernard, of Mayport, Pa, Jean Shearer and her husband, Larry, of Avonmore, Janet Hollis and her husband, Jim, of Apollo, and Joyce Shearer and her husband, Randy, of Vandergrift, a brother, Ted Matlack, and his wife, Nancy, of Bell Point. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtie Wolmedorf Matlack, 2 brothers, Joe and Jim Matlack, and 4 sisters, Helen Clinger, Ruth Ann Pivadori, Nancy Kunkle and Lois Durand. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home, LTD, 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Fairman, officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, in Lower Burrell, PA.
