Lawrence “Larry” R. Hoak, 87, of Apollo, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his home. He was born, Friday, November 6, 1931, in Truxall, PA, the son of the late Pierce J. and Amelia Stiffy Hoak. Before his retirement, he was employed in the shipping department at Carbidie in Irwin. He was a member of the Salina Bible Church, Larry was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, loved to work on his automobiles, and was an avid and quite excellent storyteller. He also enjoyed country music and playing his guitar. He is survived by his wife, Imogene C. Windows Hoak, 4 children, Gregory Hoak (Kathy McGuire) of Hyde Park, Elaine Copney and her husband, Pete, of Washington Township, Kathleen Fritz and her husband, Jim, of Apollo, and Lori Emanuel and her husband, Todd, of Apollo. 5 grandchildren, Lexi Hoak, Austin Hoak, Jessica Copney, Jennifer Kelly and her husband, Derick, of Springdale and Lindsay Fritz, and three great grandchildren, Avi Leya and Anari. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Harold and Merle Hoak, and four sisters; Alice Johns, Ruth Rago, Doris Rago and Grace Kraemer. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 28, 2018, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Avenue, North Apollo, PA. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, December 29, at11 AM at the Salina Bible Church. EVERYONE IS TO MEET AT CHURCH. Pastor Paul Reiner will officiate.
