James Richard Poloff, 78, of Saltsburg passed away, Monday, January 21, 2019, at his home. He was born on Tuesday, August 13, 1940, the son of the late Guy John and Willavene Rupert Poloff. James was a coal miner at Emily 1, with R & P Coal Company. He loved to hunt, both archery and rifle seasons, loved to work outside especially cutting grass and spending time with family, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Endres Poloff, a son James Poloff and Pam Patterson, of Avonmoe, a daughter, Kathryn Miller and her husband, Mitchell, of Saltsburg, 3 grandchildren, Lucas Poloff and his wife, Mandy, of Shelocta, James Poloff and Nichole Poloff of Avonmore, 2 great grandchildren, Quinn and Ella. One brother, Wesley A Poloff, and his wife, Linda, of Clarksburg, five sisters, Pauline Gerber and her husband, Jack, of Indiana, Dolores Curcio of Avonmore, Darlene Wofford and her husband, Benjamin, of Saltsburg, Beverly Swartz and her husband, Boyd, of Brownstown, and Cheryl Lynn Restori and her husband, Dana, of Saltsburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Guy Poloff, in infancy, and Anthony Poloff, three sisters, Betty Mae Dwyer, Mary Lou Cochran, and Donna Lee Condor. Family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home, LTD, 400 Indiana Avenue, Avonmore, PA. Private funeral services will be on Thursday, January 24, 2019, with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment will be at the Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg.
