Hazel Eileen (Elwood) Claypool

Hazel Eileen Elwood Claypool, 86, of Apollo, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville.  She was born Thursday, May 5, 1932 in Salina, Pa., the daughter of the late Clair V. and Eunice Miller Elwood. She enjoyed gardening, baking and volunteering at the Apollo VFD #3. Her passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she so loved .  She is survived by 3 sons, Jack D. Claypool of Apollo, Thomas T. Claypool and his wife, Karen, of Norfolk, Va., Lee Roy Claypool and his wife, Jody, of Saltsburg,  4 daughters, Brenda S. Lowers and her husband, Rodney, of Apollo, Becky A. Hall and her husband, Steve, of Plainfield, In., Patti L. Townsend and her husband, Daniel, of Vandergrift , Betty J. Bail and her husband, John, of Leechburg, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Denver L. Claypool in March of 2012, 2 brothers, Paul E. Elwood and C. Eugene Elwood and 3 sisters, Helen R. Silvis, Genevieve F. Menk and Martha J. Beacom. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 3PM to 7PM  an additional hour of viewing will be held one hour prior to services on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 1PM to 2PM in  the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD. 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in the funeral home at 2PM with Dr. Peter Bower, officiating. Interment is private.
