Catherine C. (Jones) Zurick

Catherine C. Jones Zurick 79 of Seward, left this world peacefully surrounded by her family, to join her husband and the love of her life, George Zurick, on Friday February 15, 2019. She was born Tuesday May 16, 1939 in Osceola Mills the daughter of the late Frances Frontino Jones. Cathy was a 1958 graduate of Philipsburg, Osceola High School. She worked in Philadelphia as a telephone operator. She returned home to marry and start a family. Cathy served as service unit director and leader of the Girl Scouts for many years. Among her many talents were cooking, sewing, baking, bowling, square dancing, and ball room dancing. She was a long-time member of the square dance club called the Naughty Pines. She is survived by her children; Debi Stevens and her husband Mark of Brush Valley, Barb Pecora and her husband Tony of Seward,  Paul  "Skip" Zurick  of Lancaster, Mark Zurick of Ambridge and Kristi Kelly and her husband Matt of Glenn Mills, Grandchildren; Trina Stevens Henry (Matt), Tonya Stevens Teal (Jason), Tim Stevens, Devan, Paige, Alaina, and Kendra Pecora, Paul Zurick Jr., and Cody, Cole and Carter Kelly, Great Grandchildren; Elizabeth Stevens, Skyler Lutman, Maleia  Miller, Addysen and Tyler Henry, Meika and Mira Teal, and Thomas Zurick. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her husband George Zurick, and a great grandson, Ayden Henry. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Lucernmines, followed by a dinner in the Church Hall. Family wishes to extend a special thanks to the VNA Hospice and Beacon Ridge Personal Care. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made in Cathy’s memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Organization at Pancan.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kelly L.
