Bonita K. "Bunny" (Mika) Shupe

Bonita Kay “Bunny” Mika Shupe 71 of Cedar Point, North Carolina, formerly of Allegheny Twp., passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, North Carolina. She was born Monday October 13, 1947 in Westmoreland County, Pa. the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise Miller Mika. She graduated from Greensburg Salem High School, and for many years she worked as an assistant to an oral surgeon. Bunny was an avid gardener, loved cooking and baking, and found great happiness in her long walks on the beach in search of specific sea shells. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ted Shupe, two daughters; Melissa Olewine Truxal of Greensburg, and Tracy Olewine Palmer and her husband Rick of New Alexandria, five grandchildren; Nicholas, Lauren, Catelyn, Ashley Tom(Andy),and Jessica Palmer two great grandchildren; Casen and Luca,Tom, a stepson, Adam Shupe and his wife Deanna of Apollo, and a stepdaughter, Sarah Sperry of Mt. Lebanon, three step grandchildren; Chloe, Lilly and Ella, a sister, Sonnie Miller and her husband Larry of Greensburg,  a brother, Thomas Mika and his wife Mary of Clarion, Pa. numerous nieces and nephews, and her son in law David Truxal. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from Noon until time of services at 2:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Private interment will be held in Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bunny’s memory to Action for Animals, P.O. Box 814, Latrobe, Pa. 15650.
