Betty Jean (Burns) Shaeffer

Betty Jean Burns Shaeffer, 88, of Apollo, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at West Haven Manor in Apollo. She was born Wednesday, February 5, 1930 in Apollo, the daughter of the late Harry H. and Annie Burford Burns. She enjoyed helping people, volunteering at the Apollo Food Bank, had a great sense of humor and loved her dog “Penny”. She is survived by her children, Jim Waltenbaugh and his wife Elizabeth of Apollo and Paul Waltenbaugh and his wife Dee of the Poconos, 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Amanda, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, W.P. Waltenbaugh, her second husband, Richard Schaeffer, a sister, Josephine Hood and a brother, Charles Hood. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Riverview Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Pastor Phil Ramstad, officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd.  1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa.
