Edwin Joseph Hunter Jr., 72, of Saltsburg, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was born Wednesday, June 27, 1945 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Edwin J. and Jane B. Hoffman Hunter Sr. Before his retirement, he was a school teacher at Saltsburg Middle High School for 34 years. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Geneva College and his master’s degree from IUP. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, the outdoors, trains and antique cars. He is survived by his wife for over 30 years, Carol Buterbaugh, a son, Edwin Joseph Hunter III of Pittsburgh, 2 step-children, Trent Buterbaugh and his wife, Jennifer, of Blairsville and Aaron Buterbaugh and his wife, Michelle, of Weirton, WV and his twin brother, Frederick Raymond Hunter and his wife, Harriett, of Pittsburgh and 6 grandchildren, Austin, Isaac, Maiya, Ella, Hannah and Hailey and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1PM to 3PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore, Pa. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 3PM with Pastor Robert Shallenberger, officiating.
